Hilton Hotel Goes Green & Saves!
by Monique Nelson on January 11th, 2011

I came across a really inspirational Press Release this morning, and I wanted to share it with you. I thought a "Green" theme in my email today was appropriate, as you will soon find out.

The title of the news piece is:

Hilton Garden Inn Knoxville West Reduces Energy Use Through GreenTechnologies

As you can imagine, the Hilton Garden Inn has implemented a variety of Green Technologies in their attempts to reduce their energy consumption at the hotel. According to the Press Release, they are very happy with the results so far.

The Inn partnered with EcoGreenHotel, who conducted an Energy Efficiency Analysis, and then recommended a variety of solutions for their unique location.

Among the suggestions that were put into effect were:

* Guest Room Energy Management System
* Ozone Laundry System
* a Heatsavr liquid pool cover for their swimming pool, and
* converting from a chlorine to saltwater swimming pool

Compared to last year, the reported energy and natural gas conservation is approximately 25%.
